Hey everyone,
We know this campaign took longer than expected. We are doing the final pre-press and uploading to Transcontinental printing this week. Ready Comics will be doing the metal variants. We got our comic shop orders from Lunar--and they are a little over 4000. Not bad, but when we were using Diamond and Lunar--our orders were over 7000. Having 2 distributors does help.
We did start charging cards on Backerkit, some backers have messaged us, other have complained. We are just trying to finalize orders, and add-ons that may not have been charged, or other pre-orders that may not have been charged.
We plane to start fulfilling as soona s we get the books from the printer.

Hey Everyone, sorry for the delay. We've been watching the Diamond bankruptcy closely and watching how the comics distribution situation will play out. Luckily, Asylum Press has been with Lunar Distributors for a few years, so we have them as a back up. Diamond Comics Distributors II seems to be continuing with their distribution business, but seems to have lost many publishers and only seems to be carrying Titan and a bunch of Indy publishers.
We have solicited ZOMBIE TERRORS:UNDEAD SPECIAL #1 for a Dec. 2025 release. We plan on getting pre-orders by early November and will be ready to go to print then. I'd like to have the campaign fulfilled by mid Dec. 2025. We know some people have asked for refunds and we've given them, if you're still wanting a refund, if you can hold out 2 more months we'd appreciate it, we can really use the income right now. We've added items to our Ebay, Etsy and webstores and hope to do good business in the Q4 of 2025.
While we used to Use Diamond, Lunar, Universal, Comics Mainstream and others, we are just using Lunar and Comics Mainstream for now. We hope Diamond Comics Distributors II can continue to be a Distributor in the comics space as we feel more distributors serve the industry better. (As long as they are going bankrupt, obviously).
After we fulfill ZOMBIE TERRORS:UNDEAD SPECIAL #1, we will be working on fulfuilling UNDEAD EVIL #1 as well.

Production update-printing, shipping- Diamond Distributors-Heavy Metal #1-

Hey everyone-just wanted to share another production update. Same as before- the book is done-and ready to go to the printer-We are just waiting for the Diamond Comics bankruptcy thing to settle. Even last week there were news posts that Diamond would go straight to Chapter 7 from Chapter 11--and this would have been bad. Now it seems they've seetled- Alliance Entertainment has backed out- and Universal Distributors and Ad Populum are the secondary bidders--and they will split up Diamond.
Diamond and Lunar both have pre-orders for Zombie Terrors:Undead Special #1 and Undead Evil #1 (of 4) and we can't go to print until we know we can ship and get paid for these purchase orders as they are about 1/2 f our total revenue from these books. We are in touch with Diamond and Lunar--and we'll just FOC these titles--get a n updated purchase order--and then go to print--we are hoping to do this before San Diego Comic-Con.

As you all know--I've been working as Editor in Chief at Heavy Metal since last may--almost 1 year-whew! I've put a lot if time and effort into bringing the magazine back from the dead. Maybe too much time?--I don't know. As many of my other projects have suffered including this one and others. I do truly love the HM brand and me and my team (and the owners and investors) have sacrificed a lot to bring it back to the fold.
These are available in some comics shops--and the Lunar orders are coming this wed. May 7th. Kickstarter orders are shipping now.

Zombie Terrors Update with Diamond Distributors bankruptcy filing-
Hey everyone-sorry for the delay with updates- The good news is the book is done. We were just thrown for a loop with Diamond comics filing chapter 11. What does this mean for small publishers? well it's not good--at least Asylum Press is also carried by Lunar Distribution and Universal Distribution.
We solicited with Diamond-and we do have pre-orders with them-but as with a Chapter 11 filing--if we ship to Diamond, and they ship to retailers--and retailers get paid- that money doesn't have to come back to Asylum Press--that money could be used to pay the Diamond creditors--which is like over $50 million owed.
So we are talking with Diamond-and we're trying to figure out what to do. We are probably going to wait until after the auction (March/April 2025) to see if a new company buys Diamond--and it's safer to ship.
At the end of 2024, some publishers were saying Diamond was paying late or not paying invoices--so we know something was wrong, so we delayed the printing of Zombie Terrors: Undead Special #1.
We wanted to use the Kickstarter funds to fund the larger print run that ships to Diamond and Lunar-Diamond was by far the larger purchase order--and it would suck to ship those and not get paid for it. The Lunar PO was smaller than Diamond, but we don't want to ship one and not the other.
We may cancel the Diamond and Lunar items and resolicit under only Lunar-and hope to get all the Diamond orders moved to Lunar.
We know Kickstarter backers are owed their items and we might have to do a smaller print run to fulfill the Kickstarer--
In any case--the Diamond Chapter 11 has hurt many small indie publishers. Hopefully they can find a buyer and it will all work out-
We are talking with Lunar and Diamond and trying to figure out the best way to print and ship Zombie Terrors: Undead Special #1.

Hi everyone- we got behind on this issue-and will be sending it to print soon- I thought we would have sent it to print by now, but I've been delayed by some personal family matters, freelance work and taking a job as Editor in Chief of Heavy Metal Magazine. The mag has had some problems for a while--and they called me in to be part of the team to fix it and relaunch- I'll be working on this comic this weekend--as we only have a few pre press items to fix. Sorry for the delay- We will print and ship soon.
